| | | | Florida! The perfect getaway. The endless sunshine the beaches lend themselves perfectly to living life in the slow lane. Outdoor activities are, however, a plenty as well. The Everglades are close at hand for those wanted to explore mother nature. The Florida Keys are a world unto themselves as is the road that connects all the keys across the ocean. Key Largo has the only living coral reef in the US. Exploring this coral reef was definately the highlight of the trip.

Stayed at the lavish Bentley Hotel located right on South Beach. Woke early to see the sunrise. Then lay under one of the distinctive yellow and white umbrellas to watch the waves, the people and the birds. Toward the evening, wal… Sitting out there on the boat surrounded by the still water of the Everglades, I looked into the water and saw tadpoles and little fish swimming around. Life steams in these calm waters. The beaches are perfect, white sands and blue waters. The sunsets are massive orange and red light shows. The road that connects the keys is also a marvel-- making a road trip to key west one of the best drives ever. These pelicans were flying sorities in formation, diving for fish in unison. It was an amazing sight as they went backwards and forwards for over twenty minutes, close to the shore, easily picking up fish at each attempt. The underwater statue of Jesus was one of the most eerie sights I have ever seen. Diving to touch its hand is considered good luck.
